Been busy for a bit so have not posted for a month.  New paintings are on the horizon though!  But for fun, thought today I would post the very first oil painting I ever painted.

This was long before I studied oils seriously.  At the time I was deep into pastels and taking workshops. When I did this painting, had no training yet in oils.  I just grabbed about 10 oil colors, no idea what to choose, squirted them out on a paper palette, and went at it.  But was about four more years until decided to ditch pastels for oils.  Best decision!  I do not ever miss pastels, but they were good for learning. And I was so lucky to live near an active pastel workshop!  Studied under a number of pastel artists.  My art school.  Not sure would have learned as fast without it!
