Field and Trees – Tonal Study oil on 5X7 panel
Another one of my tonal studies. This one based on an earlier subject I have painted in color. I might just continue to do these tonal studies for the month of January!!! I tell ya, what first inspired me to do art was a tonal piece in charcoal or graphite by an incredible artist named Michael Hames.
Seems stormy. The grey probably adds a lot to that, but the brushstrokes also seem windblown. 🙂
Thanks Cavepainter! I also been told I am very “painterly” so that kind of leaving lots of visible brush strokes probably adds to the drama makes it look stormy too in b/w.
